The Devil May Cry games are a treasure to Capcom fans. Except that second one, we don’t talk about that one. Anyway, Capcom has given fans a pretty nice treat with ports of the first two games in the action game franchise onto the Nintendo Switch. Fans seemed to be very appreciative of these new ports. The portability of the Switch combined with mostly solid action games is a great combo. But the partnership between Capcom and Nintendo isn’t done yet.
Next month, Switch owners can take a crack at Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition. The Switch title will include all the bells and whistles of the original game, plus as the team puts it, a “little something extra”. And in a new tweet this month, producer Matt Walker teased that something extra for this release.
“We know that this game holds a very special place in all of your hearts, and so we wanted to show our appreciation,” he said. “I guess you can see we were feeling a little motivated to add a little something extra that we think you’re all really going to like.” No further details as to what this new thing actually is, so your guess is as good as mine.
Walker did share some dates for release with the fanbase though. “So here are the key dates to circle on your calendar to check back for more info: Jan. 16, Jan. 30, and Feb. 13.” The interesting thing to note about these dates is that the game actually releases on Feb. 20. This means that the three weeks leading up to the Switch debut, where Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition will cost players $19.99, the development team is planning on releasing some new details. Keep your eyes peeled for more.
