Call of Cthulu is bringing the madness this Halloween

Call of Cthulhu

If you’re a fan of Lovecraftian horror, oh boy have we got the game for you.

Today, developer Cyanide and publisher Focus Home Interactive announced that Call of Cthulhu, the Lovecraft-inspired RPG, will be hitting storefronts of both the physical and digital variety on OCtober 30, 2018.

Call of Cthulhu is inspired by the 1928 short story and 1981 tabletop game of the same name. In it, you play as Edward Pierce, a PI who’s investigating the death of the Hawkins family. You’ll have to navigate invisible and obvious dangers posed by dark gods and the cults that worship them, all while trying to solve the underlying mystery.

As you navigate Darkwater Island, you’ll engage in some grim and deeply unpleasant storytelling with branching dialogue trees that can lead to different endings, as well as a leveling system that makes your character more powerful as you progress. The prospect of an engaging story and deep RPG mechanics is certainly an intriguing one, you’ll probably want to keep an eye, or tentacle, out for this one.
