A new trailer from Capcom for Monster Hunter: World has shown off how the devs plan to approach post-launch support and DLC.
Capcom say “there are plans for post-launch support of Monster Hunter: World with regular content updates, as well as major title updates for free.” The first of these is due in spring and will reintroduce Devilijho, a “fan favourite” bipedal wyvern who debuted in Monster Hunter 3.
The trailer heavily features the Elder Dragons, which were some of the most powerful monsters in previous games in the franchise. One, named Dodogama, has a unique saliva that causes rock to become explosive. It will then spit these exploding rocks at you. There are dozens more of the ferocious beasts that have been included in other Monster Hunter games. Other Elder Dragons in MHW include Nergigante and Zorah Magdaros.
Nergigante is able to regenerate at a rapid rate. When the spikes on its tail, arms, or back are broken, they’ll immediately grow back. These spikes are white in color when they regrow, but will turn black if left to harden. Once these spikes have hardened, they will deal more damage to foes and repel attacks.
