Apex Legends Season 5 brings new hero Loba

Apex Legends Season 5

With the new EVO Battle Armor event wrapping up in Apex Legends Respawn is gearing up for an entirely new season of content. The new season of post-launch content is called Fortune’s Favor, and is the fifth of its kind for the game. Content is still a bit of a mystery but we do know some details. Loba is the name of the new hero joining the roster, and she looks pretty cool. Loba, full name Loba Andrade, is a master thief, and her lore hints at a dangerous background. We do know that she has a major grudge against Revenant, the Legend introduced via Season 4.

Players will likely get to explore some more of the lore behind Loba as Apex Legends Season 5 wears on, but the developers are being a little coy right now. The team behind the game is planning some changes both big and small to the shooter this season, so let’s dive in and see what has been revealed so far.

As for changes to game modes, things look somewhat similar to the previous season. Season 4 had its ranked mode with various unique elements, and most of that will be brought forward to Season 5. The top 500 players being given special notice is coming back, for example.  There are going to be some changes though as the developers push for both more lore and engaging gameplay. For one thing, a new Season Quest will be added to the game, giving players a new goal to shoot for.

As Respawn tells it players will be on the “Hunt for treasure and answers in the new Season Quest. Those who complete the journey will be richly rewarded.”

Another new addition is called Reconnect. Reconnect is going to allow players who were booted from a ranked matched due to server or network issue the ability to rejoin the game within a certain timeframe. This should help avoid players eating unnecessary penalties for network problems or other interference.

Apex Legends Season 5 begins on May 12.
