Cities: Skylines – Industries expansion announced to revamp choices

Cities: Skylines - Industries Announced

Paradox Interactive has announced new piece of Cities: Skylines DLC, just ahead of it’s release in just a few weeks. Gear up for some new production in Cities: Skylines – Industries. Cities: Skylines – Industries will be hitting PC, Mac, and Linux on October 23, and is described as “one of the most in-depth expansions in Cities: Skylines history.”

The DLC will also add new systems for handling mail for your cities, as well as a bunch of new city policies. There will be hree new industry policies and four new general city policies. The expansion also includes five new map choices.

As one would expect from the name, the aim of this expansion is to add a bunch of new content and choice to the industrial side of the game. Paradox Interactive’s Production Manager Sandra Neudinger had the following to say about this new content update:

With this expansion, players can make more meaningful choices in their cities’ industry by managing their production chains from grain to bread. The players have been asking for an industrial expansion for a while, so we’re excited to finally offer a full-featured approach.

Cities: Skylines – Industries will land on PC on October 23. Cities: Skylines is currently available for PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

The expansion will arrive alongside a free update that expands other features as well. This update will include the Synthetic Dawn Radio Station with 16 new songs. There will also be toll booths, new zoning types for historical buildings, as well as the ability to import custom name lists for buildings.

It will be pretty interesting to see how creative the game community will get when combining these new options with other DLC like Green Cities. The challenge of making an industrial city that limits pollution output is surely to be one that fans will enjoy, among many other challenges and creative projects they will get up to.
