Aksys Games is working on a new game, and it’s an interesting one. Death Mark is a horror game that tells it’s story in the more traditional visual novel style. Death Mark is being worked on by Experience, the team behind the Demon Gaze series, Ray Gigant, Stranger of Sword City, and a ton more.
Aksys Games and Experience are working to craft a more unique twist on the visual novel genre with this game. The spooky and grim themes and tone definitely evoke some dark source material like the Lovecraftian ethos. The gameplay itself is fairly simple, but the brooding art style and strange cast of characters adds to the mystique and appeal of Death Mark.
That story tells the mystery of a dangerous plague spreading throughout Tokyo. Tokyo’s “H” district is beset by a strange mark that shows up randomly on it’s residents, bringing omens of ill tidings and death. And as someone afflicted with this mark, you’re now on a journey to figure out what’s going on, and if it can be stopped.
Death Mark will be coming to PS4, PS Vita, and Nintendo Switch on October 31st. There is an Xbox One version, but that’s exclusive to Japanese markets for now. Check out the newest trailer for the game down below.
