Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers announces launch date with great new trailer

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers

Square Enix held a livestream this morning showing off the opening keynote at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Paris. As part of this debut, the company showed off a ton of different new additions heading to Final Fantasy XIV as part of the newest expansion that’s coming later this year. And with these announcements we finally know the launch date, Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers will go live on July 2, 2019.

In addition to all the other cool announcements, Square Enix also revealed what will be included with the Collector’s Edition of the new expansion. The Collector’s Edition will include a decorative art box, an incredibly detailed Dark Knight figure, an art book, a sticker cling, unique playing cards, and some digital in-game items.

Of course all of that carries a premium price pretty far above the $39.99 price point of the standard version of Shadowbringers. A collector’s edition of Shadowbringers was also revealed that will be available to purchase for $199.99. There’s also a digital version which will cost $59.99 that doesn’t include the physical bonuses.

Although regardless of which version you buy, there’s still some special rewards involved. Anyone who grabs a copy of the expansion will receive an exclusive gunblade weapon based on the one used by Squall in Final Fantasy VIII, a special Grani mount, and a minion based on Fran from Final Fantasy XII.

We’ve included both the new date announcement trailer for the expansion down below. There’s also a bunch of screenshots showing new classes, gear and other tidbits being bundled into Final Fantasy XIV with the launch of Shadowbringers down there too. Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers will be available for PC, PS4, and Mac on July 2.
