Star Citizen: Around the Verse for the week of Feb. 1st

Star Citizen: Around the Verse - Carrack News, ArcCorp Views

Character Art Director Josh Herman and LA Studio Director Eric Kieron Davis are back again to take Star Citizen fans through the weekly progress updates over at CIG.

We’re back this time around with mode news on ships, as well as ongoing progress on the finishing process for AirCorp assets in-game. This means more polish on environments and tilesets that will be part of the final game. There’s some new community events covered as well But that’s just the basics, so let’s dive in and get a closer look.

The newest ATV features new video segments first up, like an in-game ad for ship and vehicle manufacturer Cyclone. Then the VFX teams take the stage. The work continues on the new flight models as well, with new thruster effects in the pipeline as well as other VFX gameplay elements. The plan is to implement full damage modeling for ships in space, making PvP much more engaging. Right now the idea is in the very early stages, but work looks promising.

There’s a lot more to this newest ATV, check it out down below to learn more.

In other news about this upcoming space epic, we finally learned when the next phase of the singleplayer element, Squadron 42 will land. Squadron 42 is due to land in beta in Q2 2020.

To see more Star Citizen news, check out some of the other Around the Verse videos, or maybe you want to see some more Squadron 42 gameplay. There’s also a bunch of new ships in development, specifically from Drake Interplanetary, Consolidated Outland and Anvil Aerospace. There’s new craft and variants like the Valkyrie and Kraken. Check those out over here.

Check out the latest patch notes on the official site. The funding for the project continues to grow at a steady pace. As of writing Cloud Imperium Games has currently raised $216,575,480 from 2,243,073 backers overall. I still can’t get over how much money this insanely ambitious project has raised.
