With the release of Destiny 2: Beyond Light, the release of new and reworked content has massively changed things around. The new expansion has completely redone how many of the old Legacy Exotics work. One that a lot of people seem to be chasing is the Mida Multi Tool Exotic in Destiny 2. There are a few reasons for the player base chasing this weapon, and it’s only partially to do with Scout Rifles and the buff they got this patch.
The Mida Multi Tool Exotic is still a very powerful PvP weapon with an excellent range that can also make you move faster. The amount of long-range headshots you can dole out with this is nuts. The player that is able to pick off foes and then close in and mop up will dominate in Crucible with this.
How to get the Destiny 2 Mida Multi-Tool
You used to be able to get this powerful weapon via its own unique quest, but things have changed. You used to have to use Precision Shots and take out a certain number of enemies in the right order, but that’s gone now; You will need to visit the Exotic Archive in the Tower this time around.
There are many different ways to get Exotics in the game. You could check out Xur each week and see what they have in stock. You could also get lucky with Engrams and other loot drops. Public Events, chests, Crucible matches and other activities also reward these items. The more difficult unlocks are the weapons with specific quests that take a lot more work to unlock.
To get the Mida Multi Tool Exotic after completing the quest, it’s going to take some tools and resources,
- 1 Exotic Cipher
- 100,000 Glimmer
- 150 Dusklight Shard
- 1 Ascendant Shard
Exotic Ciphers can be gained from the Season Pass, or by completing a weekly mission for Xur. You will then need to bring these with the other resources above to the Exotic Archive in the Tower. Once you have all the stuff and have brought everything down, you can claim the old weapon. You can claim various other weapons in this manner as well.
Dusklight Shard
Dusklight Shard is the planetary resource you can get from the EDZ. Using the proper Ghost mods to boost resource drops can help earn this stuff faster. You will want to take bounties in the EDZ and then pay attention to the map around you. Look for the big blue crystals floating around to find these. Also, completing a Public Event nets you 2 more Shards each time you do.
Ascendant Shards
Another difficult to get resource, as it mostly requires high-level content. You can get these from three primary sources:
- You can buy them from Banshee-44 in the Tower
- Via the later stages of the Season pass
- Nightfall: The Ordeal at Master difficulty or higher
You can earn Ascendant Shards from the Season Pass at levels 80, 85, and 94. You could probably farm them faster from Banshee-44, although they are very expensive. The Power requirement for those Nightfall missions is 1280, so keep that in mind as well.
To trade for Ascendant Shards from Banshee-44, you need these resources
- 10 Enhancement Prisms
- 100 Planetary Materials (these will rotate daily)
- 50,000 Glimmer
