Crash Team Racing details DLC, featuring Spyro and more

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Confirmed

The orgy of news that is E3 2019 might have quieted down a bit, but that hasn’t stopped a torrent of developers and publishers from teasing news about upcoming games and their plans for the future. One such case is  Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, which has now been revealed to have a pretty extensive post-launch roadmap.

As part of the post-launch plan for the game, Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will get a bunch of DLC updates as free content. There are currently three planned to drop for the game, each bringing in iconic characters from the Crash franchise, as well as other Playstation icons.

Each of these DLC additions will contain a new headline feature, as well as a suite of new tracks, characters and challenges. These patches will also introduce new items like Karts and Skins as well.

The first update will introduce Tawna, Amy, Megumi, Liz and Isabella as new racers, will also allowing players to race on the Twilight Tour track as part of the Nitro Tour Grand Prix event. This update concludes with a handful of new challenges like Drifting to the Limit and Plague Master. Said Nitro Tour Grand Prix DLC will be free, and goes live on July 3rd.

This will be followed by the Back N. Time Grand Prix. And although this event has no firm release date or window, we do know what content is included. The Prehistoric Playground track leads the charge in this event, and introduces Baby T, Baby Crash and Baby Coco as new drivers. The slate of challenges is still in flux for this patch, but will include new weekly challenges and more.

The final planned update announced so far is a crossover event with Spyro the Dragon. This Spyro Grand Prix will ostensibly follow the pattern of the previous updates by adding new tracks, items and challenges, but right now all we know is that Spyro is coming to be a brand new playable character.

Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled launches on June 21 for PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
