As the public phase of the Star Wars: Battlefront beta opens, users have already poked around the source files for the game and found a few surprises. Namely, those of several heroes within the Star Wars canon.

The files mention the Emperor, Han Solo, Princess Leia and Boba Fett. Mined sound files attached to these characters can be listened to on SoundCloud. Thanks AGB and Reddit users TheeUberMedic and radgamerdan.

Curiously, the sound files mined by users contain some out of context character references. These are likely dialog lines that instantiate when the player uses a character to kill a certain other hero. The Emperor’s specifically reference killing Princess Leia, Han Solo and encountering Luke Skywalker. Whereas Leia references killing the Emperor and encountering Darth Vader. Han Solo, on the other hand, references killing Boba Fett and encountering Darth Vader. This leads many to suspect some kind of hero battle mode is on the way. We do know that the upcoming 20-player Squadron Mode will feature a hero powerup for the Millennium Falcon.

These findings are also interesting as currently within the Beta the only playable heroes are Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. The Star Wars: Battlefront beta is currently open to the public on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
