What are the Pre-Order Bonuses for Horizon: Forbidden West?

Horizon: Forbidden West Edition Bonuses Guide

Horizon: Forbidden West is launching later in 2022, on February 18 to be specific. The game takes the journey of Aloy into a new chapter. As she and her pals explore the techno-fantasy, hidden dangers prowl, waiting to strike. Deadly enemies await in the edges of the western lands, and Aloy and her allies must be ready. And while you can’t help them prepare, you can reserve your copy now, and be ready to begin the journey.

Sony has announced the various pre-order bonuses for Horizon: Forbidden West, which include some quite nice trinkets and in-game rewards. Prices start at $60 USD, and run up to an eye-watering $260 USD. That ultimate edition includes a lot of content, but I would have a hard time justifying that price tag.

Along with these announcements, Sony also published a look at the NPC tribes found in the game.

But now, back to the pre-order bonuses, as well as what edition includes.

All Pre-Order Bonuses for Horizon: Forbidden West

Here are all of the options you can purchase to get various Pre-Order Bonuses for Horizon: Forbidden West.

There will be four different editions of the game when it launches. Given that it’s a Sony IP, expect a presence only on the PS4 and PS5. The editions of the game available for pre-order include: Digital Deluxe Edition, Speical Edition, Collector’s Edition, and Regalla Edition.

One of the things that’s most surprising is the way Sony is deploying the PS5 version. Every PS4 copy of Horizon: Forbidden West will receive a free PS5 Upgrade. That means you could very easily buy any PS4 non-collectors version and get both games. The difference is largely down to visual quality and possible framerate, though, as they are effectively the same game.

It’s quite absurd to see that Sony and developers are still pushing absurd editions with close to $300 price tags, but that’s just my personal opinion. If you want to put even more money into the pockets of the publisher, that’s your choice. At least you get some progression skips and a nice few trinkets.
