It was announced last week that Quantic Dream had partnered with Epic to bring a bunch of their PS4 exclusive titles to PC for the first time via the Epic Games Store. Detroit: Become Human will be joined by Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain as they release for PC. Of course first up is

Since it’s debut in 2016, the Vulkan API has been attempting to compete with the likes fo OpenGL and DirectX as a low-level graphics rendering package that could handle intense 2D and 3D rendering without leveraging too much CPU or GPU bandwidth. The system uses multi-threaded programming and object-based computing to accomplish tasks in a much quicker manner than more traditional graphical APIs and has wide support for many different operating systems.

Vulkan is derived from and built upon components of AMD’s Mantle API, which was donated by AMD to Khronos with the intent of giving Khronos a foundation on which to begin developing a low-level API that they could standardize across the industry.

Going back to Detroit: Become Human, let’s talk a bit about the story of this interesting title. You play through the stories of three different androids in a future dystopia plagued by manner more contemporary problems. America is in a state of decline after hyper-advanced technology allows the creation of life-like androids that fulfill many of the mundane and more dangerous tasks humans used to take for granted.

With a highly stratified social order, extreme poverty and unemployment, and a wave of social unrest, things are already bad, but they’re about to get much worse. Will you be peaceful or violent in your quest for freedom? Will you show compassion or cold and ruthless efficiency? Will you be a capable protector for those you care about? Answer all of these questions and more when Detroit: Become Human drops for PC later this year.
