Sonic Team Racing has a new trailer fresh from E3 2018. All you favorite characters are back, Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles Tails and more are making a return to the track in this latest title. Many more iconic Sonic characters will be on the roster as well. According to the E3 floor demo, there will be 15 characters at least.
Sonic Team Racing was teased a while back, alongside a bunch of other Sonic-related content like a new animated series.
As for gameplay, racers will be able to play either solo or within teams of up to 12 members online in a variety of single and multiplayer modes including Grand Prix, Time Travel and Team Adventure. There’s lot of commonalities with Mario Kart in terms of powerups (called Wisps), boosts and track shortcuts.
The vehicles handle really well and the racing feels empowered and quick. The powerups are a mix of speed boosts and things that screw up other racers.

Team Sonic Racing releases this winter for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
