A lot of gamers love stealth action games, with franchises like Metal Gear putting the laser-focus on stealth and silent killing. And now publisher CI Games has announced their own contender, Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts. The shooter follows a pretty solid baseline experience of hunting down and killing people for money. While it won’t be anywhere near as flash as Call of Duty, this new title offers some strong themes and plenty of scary moments.
And given the namesake of the Sniper franchise, we can expect plenty of slow and steady stalking to be a major part of gameplay. Players will not only have their own targets to take out, but will also have to deal another shadow of death hunting them for their own reasons.
From what we can see of the game so far, it plays a lot less like HITMAN and more like Sniper Elite. You won’t be donning disguises and exploding targets with rubber ducks, instead your focus is on remaining as quiet and unnoticed as possible, while blasting your target’s cranium away with a well-placed round. Expect a fair amount of violence and some slow-motion emphasis for good effect.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts will take place in snowy Siberia, with all of the icy landscapes, dense forests and abandoned Soviet military outposts intact. There’s no open-world areas to really explore though, in one major downside, as the game is purely built around a simple mission structure. You’re dropped into a map an expected to hunt down your target at your leisure. There will be some divergent paths though, allowing gamers to find one of several venues for taking down their quarry.
Check out the trailer for the game down below. Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts will be coming out on November 22nd.
