Overcooked! All You Can Eat details new Assist Mode and accessibility features

Overcooked! All You Can Eat

Team 17 has announced more details about their upcoming next-gen port of the Overcooked series, Overcooked! All You Can Eat. The version of the game for Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5 will include both games and all the DLC for both mainline titles. This will just be the first serving though. Team 17 is putting a ton of work to get the game running at its most visually intense, but not making it overwhelming. This means overhauling the UI elements and other stuff to make the game easier to understand.

The new package includes a bunch of stuff, with more helpful stuff for gamers new and old to get used to the nonsense that is this game. That’s where the Assist Mode comes in. This new mode can be turned on to make the game basically have training wheels, which removes the timers for menu items and extends the round timer as a whole—perfect for families playing with younger siblings or those who find playing the standard game tricky.

Overcooked! All You Can Eat will start things off by warming up the UI with new options for colour-blind friendly indicators and more visual styling. This will help any gamers with sight problems parse what’s happening on screen.  The game will even sport a dyslexic-friendly font utilised in text boxes for dialogue.

The game repacked version will add in some new features to support more accessible gameplay. Players getting their hands on the new version to support more UI options. There will be more subtitle customization, scaling of text and menus, and more too. The game will have a better overall design to the UI to make it much easier to handle all the new and redone content.
