How to get the Grease Trap Pistol in Borderlands 3

How to get the Grease Trap Legendary Pistol in Borderlands 3

There are lots of new weapons being added to Borderlands 3 for the Revenge of the Cartels event. The latest is a rather powerful pistol that packs a heck of a punch. The Grease Trap Pistol in Borderlands 3 is a new sidearm offering a great option for an emergency backup weapon. It deals fire damage as a primary option at a rapid pace, but that’s not the best part.

It’s a fair bit different to the Yellowcake Rocket Launcher though. For one thing, it shoots Corrosive damage that’s great for ripping apart armored enemies. It’s much better at dealing with single targets like bosses than against groups, compared to the other big weapons from the new event. The alternate fire toggle for this weapon is pretty strong, it’s not bugged like the Rocket Launcher alt though, so there’s no potential for game-breaking mod combinations. But if you’re looking to farm a good secondary fire pistol, this may the ideal choice. The one thing that is similar is how you obtain it.

To get the Grease Trap Pistol in Borderlands 3, you will once again be heading into the Revenge of the Cartels event, and the dangerous villa spawned as part of the questline for the event. You will be fighting your way through Villa Ultraviolent, past all f the other bosses to take on the main guy himself.

Joey Ultraviolent is a pretty tough boss, but at least the fight against him is pretty straightforward, making it easier to farm. Simply take down that first wave of adds which spawns, then move on to damaging Joey Ultraviolent himself. Another wave will spawn, and a set of tendrils will insulate Joey. To continue damaging Joey, kill the enemies and then the energy tendrils.

And no, the weapon does not appear to be obtainable by other sources. TheLoot the Universe event may be a great source of loot, but it doesn’t appear that the Grease Trap pistol is one of them, at least for now. That could change in the future though as Gearbox tweaks things, so keep your eyes peeled while you’re out farming.
