Legendary Cores in Fallout 76 are the newest premium item added to the game. These are very important for end-game progression, as you need them for the best loot. The massively powerful high-tech guns require a lot of advanced technology, even in the fantastical nightmare future of this universe. You will need to acquire some very interesting items throughout your time in this open-world adventure. To get the best stuff, you often need to crawl your way through labyrinthine questlines. The same is true with egendary cores in Fallout 76.
The eighth major update for Fallout 76 has arrived, Steel Reign was released on July 7 for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. Check it out in the trailer below.
How to get Legendary Cores in Fallout 76
These come from events, although there may be other methods to acquire them added over time. As Bethesda adds more content to the survival game, there may be better ways to get Legendary Cores in Fallout 76.
As of now, they were just added as part of the Steel Reign update to Fallout 76. The goal was to add Legendary loot to the game that adds both flavor to the combat, as well as the ultra-powerful potential for destruction. And with the penchant for nonsense that this series has had, you can expect some very weird stuff to happen. A big part of the weirdness is Legendary Mods. To get these, you need to craft them, and the recipes include Legendary Cores.
Legendary cores DO NOT drop from regular loot or enemies, best as we can tell. legendary cores for completing daily ops, seasonal events, public events, and as rewards for continuous play. It’s possible seasonal progression might hand some out as well. We will have to wait and see what Bethesda does on that front. As of writing, the best way to get them appears to be public events for high-level players.
Most of the events that drop them will drop them on completion of the event. Some of the Daily Ops and other events have chances to drop more than one as well, although chances decrease for multiple Cores per run. This makes Project Paradise a good choice, as you just have to have one character alive to get at least one core. You can get up to 8 of the Legendary Cores in Fallout 76 by fully clearing the event with 3 alive though, so it’s a great boost if you mastered the event.
The following events will guarantee the player receives legendary cores once completed or if certain circumstances are met:
