Devil May Cry 5 will have character upgrade microtransactions

Devil May Cry 5 TGS Dante Trailer

Capcom may be jumping on the gravy train with microtransactions to speed up character upgrades in Devil May Cry 5.

Devil May Cry 5 features Red Orbs as an upgrade system that players use at Divinity Statues to improve the character abilities. The game gives you these Orbs as a reward for play, but the overall pace may be a bit glacial for some players, so Capcom has revealed that players can purchase Red Orb packs for real money. This was confirmed to Gamespot this past weekend.

With giving people the ability to purchase Red Orbs, it’s something we want to give people as an option. If they want to save time and just want to get all the stuff at once, those people can do that. But on the other hand I don’t feel you have to get all the moves,’ explained Capcom’s Hideaki Itsuno. ‘You should be able to play it the way you want to play it.

As a bit of good news to fans, so they can swallow the potentially bitter pill that is the microtransactions system, Capcom did release a new bit of gameplay footage for the game. You can find the trailer down below. The gameplay video started off by showing Dante in action, and another segment showcasing a spectacular boss battle against Cavaliere Angelo.

Another trailer released by Capcom confirmed that Trish and Lady will be in the game, check that out below as well. Devil May Cry 5 has received a brand new trailer showcasing the return of veteran demon hunters Trish and Lady, plus mysterious newcomer V, the game’s third playable character.

Devil May Cry 5 releases on March 8th, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
