So finally, after a stint on the PTR, the newest addition to the Overwatch roster is in the game and playable for everyone. The new patch, version 1.34, adds in the new Hero, and a bunch of minor changes.
Baptiste is the newest Support character in-game, bringing combat medic abilities and some decent DPS to make him a decent clutch choice. Players will need to use his various gadgets and abilities to keep allies alive with abilities like Immortality Field, while using his trusty SMG to spray down enemies. For those wondering, this marks the 30th character to join the roster in the competitive FPS.
In addition to the new Hero being added to the roster, Blizzard is also tweaking a bunch of Heroes to preserve balance in-game. Ana, Doomfist, Hanzo and many more are getting some tweaks this patch. A big series of change concerns Armor, and with 1.34 it’s now harder to damage Armored targets with beam weapons, but Damage-Over-Time effects now pierce armor effectively. There’s also a bunch of smaller adjustments to abilities for various heroes, mostly dealing with tweaking damage or cooldowns.
We’ve also included the patch notes down below. And of course, there’s the highlight reel for patch 1.34 and the sizzle reel for Baptiste down there too. So enjoy that.
Overwatch is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. If you want to pick up a copy, go grab the game on Amazon.
