New horror title Dollhouse highlights story in new trailer

Horror Game Dollhouse's Story Trailer

Dollhouse, the new horror title from SOEDESCO and Creazn Studio, has some new information for players to peruse, as well as terrifying new story trailer.

What’s Dollhouse you ask? Well, it’s a horror game with both singleplayer and multiplayer elements. And the focus here isn’t on the organic or forced scares of a “walking simulator” style horror game, there’s much more narrative flesh on these bones. This deeply disturbing film noir setting of the game is revealed in the new story trailer, which leaves a lot to the imagination in a very scary way.

The thing about Dollhouse is that it doesn’t really play like your typical “walking simulator” or other modern horror game. For one thing, Dollhouse uses procedural generation to create maps, meaning that each playthough will be unique compared to those before it. There’s a ton of player customization in the game too, with dozens of abilities and skills that change the way each character plays. Did I mention that there are 14 different spooky and terrifying characters in the multiplayer alone, and each one has their own playstyle. This game is surprisingly deep.

But let’s get to what you really want to know, the story of Dollhouse. The player follows Marie, a traumatized mother struggling with the loss of her daughter Emily. The experience has left Marie so broken that she has developed amnesia, or at least that’s what I think is going on. The who setup is very vague, and as Marie tries to escape the sinister Dollhouse that she’s trapped in, she will have to confront her memories and the consequences of what led to the death of her daughter. It’s all very strange, and I kind of like not knowing what to expect. We’ll just have to wait until launch to figure out what happens with Marie and this particular house of horrors.

The unnerving and psychological horror title is due to launch on PS4 and PC. Check out the story trailer for the game down below.
