Item and XP exploits are great business in RPGs. Some players just want to skip the grind, and will use any methods they can find to speed up leveling. In Dark Souls, there was a rather useful exploit for early levels involving letting a dragon kill enemies for you. Elden Ring doesn’t have something that simple, but there’s a useful quirk of the open-world structure you can take advantage of. Players can venture to any zone in the game, regardless of level.
This has created a circumstance where high-level enemies that drop tons of Runes can be farmed by pretty much any player. Runs like this aren’t unheard of in the franchise, as they often rely on abusing the respawn system. When you sit at a Grace Site in Elden Ring, all the enemies in that zone respawn. Here’s how to do this brand new infinite Runes exploit in Elden Ring and get easy levels.
How to do the Infinite Runes Exploit in Elden Ring
The basic idea is pretty simple, as you need to just go to a certain zone and hunt down a certain enemy. The exploit relies on finding this zone and abusing a shortcut to get infinite amounts of Runes from a very simple enemy. Here are the steps you need to do:
- Go to the Third Church of Marika in Limgrave.
- Head northeast of the main building, looking for a portal hidden in the brush.
- Enter the portal to go to Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow in Caelid.
- Head down the stairs from the spawn and use the Farum Greatbridge Site of Grace to set your spawn.
- In the immediate area outside the Grace Site, you will find groups of small armored enemies.
- Killing each one of these enemies will give you 1,000 Runes.
- Open the map and fast-travel back to the Grace Site you just rested at, rinse and repeat.
So the basic idea for this infinite Runes exploit in Elden Ring is to just kill the right kind of enemy over and over. This farming spot is at the Farum Greatbridge in the north of Caelid. This is actually a late-game area but due to the game being open world you can go there from the start. You will have to dodge some powerful enemies to get here, so just be careful. Once you find the portal, head down that staircase to your south to reach Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow in Caelid.
Just avoid the enemies here and look for a bridge with a dragon hanging out on it. The site of Grace is found right before that bridge. Once you get to the Site of Grace, you can freely farm. Since the game has a pretty easy fast travel system, it’s also very easy to leave this zone once you’re done farming.
The enemies you’re looking for are humanoids in all-black armor, and they are often found wielding very distinct staffs. They’re very easy to kill once you’re leveled up enough. A mid-level character should be able to melee them down in just a couple of hits. You’ll find they tend to stand in groups, but the enemies standing on their own are usually the easiest to take down. Head for the ones found north of the Farum Greatbridge to get them alone. Try hitting these first by riding over and slashing them. This makes it much easier to avoid their attacks. You will want to avoid their hits, especially if you’re low-level.
