The Unkempt Harold in Borderlands 3 is a Legendary that was first introduced in Borderlands 2 as a rather strong pistol. With splitting projectiles that fire out up to four additional rounds per shot, it’s great for applying damage to tough foes. The short range does make it harder to use safely, but it’s still a fun alternative to more conventional weapons.
The Unkempt Harold in Borderlands 3 can only drop from one source. You get the pistol from Caber Dowd in the Bloodsun Canyon of the Bounty of Blood DLC. There will be some farming involved though, so be prepared to take Caber Dowd out a few times to get the weapon. The boss is not an easy fight either.
To start the fight, begin by smashing the crystals you find around the level. These crystals are found near the end of the level. The challenge enemy is spawned within an offshoot room after you break the green crystals growing over a door at the end of one of the corridors. Doing so will unlock a portal leading to Caber Dowd.
The new version of the Unkempt Harold can roll with any modifier. The original version fo the gun was restricted to Explosive only, so that’s nice. The amount of splash damage makes it great for dealing with groups of enemies, although bosses will be a little harder. This weapon can even handle Mayhem enemies quite comfortably.
