Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee adds Mega Evolutions and Team Rocket

Pokemon Let's Go Lt. Surge and Team Rocket Trailer

A recent leak online confirmed that the upcoming Pokemon games for the Nintendo Switch, Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee, will feature a bunch of new and returning features.

One of the major features confirmed by the leak is that the games will include Mega-Evolutions. And as expected, they work the same as they did in other games in the series, which means you’ll need the Key Stone and Mega Stones to unlock these powerful forms. It has also been confirmed that Mega Blastoise, Venasaur, Charizard X, and Charizard Y are only the first Mega Evolutions players will run into, so other ones will be obtainable in the Pokémon: Let’s Go titles.

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company also announced that old-school villains Team Rocket will make a return in the form of our favorite bumbling bad guys Jessie and James. And of course, their Pokemon companions like Meowth, Ekans and Koffing will be in the game as well.

And as we’ve seen in other coverage, these games will have Gym requirements that are a pretty big change from the older games. So players wishing to take on Lt. Surge will need to bring some Rock or Ground type Pokemon.
