Ori and the Will of the Wisps Delayed

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Microsoft has announced that Ori and the Will of the Wisps has been delayed, but only by a bit. Developer Moon Studios wants a bit more time to polish up some aspects of the game. The game was originally meant to come out on February 11th. However, Microsoft has pushed it back a month. The new release date for the game on Xbox One and PC is March 11th, 2020.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is all about a new adventure. Moon Studios’ sequel may follow titular character Ori from the previous game, but a lot of things are different this time around. Sure, there’s all the puzzles and threatening enemies you know from the first game, but the sequel also offers something more. We’re getting new multiplayer options for example, in a new Spirit Trials feature, players can race against each other to set the best time on a given level.

The core gameplay is also being expanded in new ways. There’s a deeper character customization system for example. It includes new weapons and abilities that will make combat much richer. The core of the fast combat is being made more tactical in the sequel. And perfection takes time, so there’s a reason to push a short delay right there. Hopefully the game comes out the other end of this pushback better for it.

It’s not all bad news though. Microsoft and Moon Studios just put out a new trailer during the Game Awards that shows the game off. Check it out below.
