Who is the traitor in the Stench of Treachery mission in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?

In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you need to complete various tasks to secure your new settlement and make things easier for your Viking endeavors. As you play through the story, you will be given various tasks that play various in-game factions against each other. One such quest is called the Stench of Treachery. Stench of Treachery is a quest in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It starts after you talk to Birna, Lif and Galinn, and Soma asks you to begin solving the mystery of the traitor.

In the Grantebridge arc, your objective is to help Soma defeat Wigmund and regain control over Grantebridge. But there’s a traitor who has compromised their plans, and you need to find them. To find the real traitor, you need to gather evidence in and around Grantebridge. You can speak to the people in Grantebridge and you will find that both Lif and Galinn have alibis. Each NPC will give you some quests to undertake to find more info as well.

Finding the traitor in the Stench of Treachery mission

During the Stench of Treachery mission, you need to find a few different things. Your first task is to find evidence of the traitor. The evidence is not marked on the map, so you have to hunt it down. You want to start by talking to all three of the suspects, and then paying attention to their responses. Keep in mind that you can come back and confront them after you gained more info.

Go and examine their houses, you will notice that Birna’s house looks like she’s ready to leave, pretty suspicious. There’s a note in Galinn’s place that could also implicate him. Find the evidence in each house and speak to the NPCs again to reveal more dialogue. markers will point you towards the houses, so don’t worry about getting lost. Your target is Galinn, as he’s the real traitor. But to prove it, you need more information.

Finding the Yellow Longship

One of the big pieces of evidence in the quest is the location of a suspicious longship. The yellow longship is key to cracking this case. The exact location is north of Middletun, out in the swamps in that area. Look between the two small islands northwest of Soham Hideout.

When you head deeper into the swamps, be on the lookout for the yellow longship markers. The location of the longship is guarded, so be careful. Once you’re sure of its location move in and take out the enemies. Dispatch them and inspect the ship, paying attention to the cargo. Also, along the bow of the ship, there’s an inscription that reads “Pathed by a volva, a destiny writ, clear is his vision, rigid his grit”. This is a big clue that Galinn’s involved.

If you were really astute, you will notice some yellow paint on Soma’s longhouse along one of the walls, another clue. If you proceed from the tunnel in Soma’s longhouse, you will find said paint on the wall. Speaking to the suspects reveals that it used to belong to Lif, but was stolen. This will help you finally do accuse Galinn of being the traitor.

After gathering all this evidence, you can finally go and tell Soma that Galinn is the traitor. Keep in mind that if you choose the wrong traitor, the real traitor will step forward and start killing people. Get it right the first time to avoid disaster.
