The Sims 4 features careers like many other previous games in the franchise. The Sims 4 Careers are a life-long investment for each Sim. You will need to put in a lot of work to get the one that you want. You will want to pick one that gels well with your Sim. You won’t want to put an evil or moody Sim in a career where their negative mood can impact performance. Or maybe you have a roleplaying idea you’re going for and have a set career in mind.

For this guide, let’s focus on the base game. Depending on what DLC you have, you will encounter more careers, we will cover those some other time.

Moods and Job Performance

The Sims 4 Careers depend a lot on your mood as a Sim. Each day you work your job will result in a hidden rating, based mostly on your mood. Some careers do better with certain moods than others. Aspirations are very important as well. Certain Aspirations can give you the right moodlet on command to make getting solid job ratings each day key.

Adult Careers

During your adult life, you can choose a specific career track to embark on. Each track has two branches eaned around Job Level 7, with 10 ranks in all. Depending on which path you choose, your rewards for each Job Level will change.

Astronaut Career

Space Ranger and Interstellar Smuggler are two of the options you can take here. Energized is the best mood for ideal job performance. As an Astronaut, you get a unique Space Ship, free, while other Sims must spend $5000 to get it. Athletic Aspirations can be used to trigger Energized by consuming energy drinks.
