If you ever wanted to undo your progress in ACNH, there is a way to do that. If you wanted to start completely over and restart Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there’s a way to delete your old save. Keep in mind that if you do this, you cannot go back. There’s a multi-step process at play here, so be prepared to do some work. And don’t worry, you won’t affect your console or other games by doing this.
Here’s how to delete your save and current island to restart Animal Crossing: New Horizons:
- Step One: Navigate to System Settings on your Switch;with the settings option on the home menu.
- Step Two: Scroll through the various options until you find Data Management, click that.
- Step Three: Under data management, you will need to click the option that says delete save data; after clicking this, search and locate your Animal Crossing New Horizons save file.
- Step Four: After finding and selecting the save file, you need to confirm the restart by selecting delete all save data for this software. Press this option to wrap up the process.
Once all this is done, your finished and have removed your old island. That means you can now restart the game from the very beginning. That means all your previous progress has been lost, so that’s not a good thing if you put a ton of time into the game already.
