Animal Crossing: New Horizons has great character customization

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has detailed some new features in new gameplay snippets posted on the official Twitter for the upcoming game. Nintendo is now teasing fans with something they have wanted out of the franchise for years. Character customization and avatar creation will now be fully unlocked in the Switch release of the game.

The game also has done away with some older features.  Features that were randomized in previous games, making character customization pretty restricted. Facial features, hair color, and skin color can all be tweaked in the new Switch title. The look of the eyes and hair can also be changed.

Gamers will also be able to use gendered features on their avatars whenever they like, so there’s no pressure to lock yourself into explicitly masculine or feminine looks based on other choices with your character. This subtle change unlocks a ton of potential and allows players to feel more represented by their creations, a very welcome adjustment among fans.

And it’s not just the look of their characters that can be tweaked, players will also be able to adjust the looks and theme of their homes as well.

With the impending launch of the game, fans are really excited. There are lots of Switch fans, as well as franchise fans who are looking forward to next month when the new entry comes out. And with the new customization options in this version, it’s easy to see why. Animal Crossing as a franchise has always lent itself to more artistic expression and social gameplay, so having these options expanded has fans ecstatic.

Of course, the announcement of Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch console has also stirred up some interest thanks to how nice it looks. Back when the game was delayed, fans were concerned, but it looks like the delay was worth it.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons released on March 20th on Nintendo Switch.
