Earlier today speculation broke that Epic Games had been working on a new addon product for their flagship game, Fortnite. It comes in response to the new patch that just dropped. As part of the ongoing reactions to the newest patch to the battle royale game, namely version 11.30, showing what fans are excited about. The new patch brings in a huge treasure trove of new cosmetic options and loot to earn for fans.

But the biggest new reveal is a supposed leak that Epic is in fact working on a new Annual Battle Pass that would replace the broken-up structure we have now. The rumor was based around a new message supposedly found buried within the update files. The message supposedly leaked, reads the following: “Purchase the 2020 Annual Pass and receive all upcoming 2020 Fortnite Battle Royale: Battle Bundles and 7 Annual Pass exclusive cosmetics. Battle Bundles unlock 25% of content in each Battle Pass instantly upon release.”

The Fortnite Annual Battle Pass has now been confirmed, to not be a thing. According to Eurogamer, the Fortnite Annual Battle Pass will not in fact be a thing. Epic said that while the Annual Pass was considered, though they have no plans to go ahead with it as a product. This confirms that, at least for now, that Epic will continue the Battle Pass system in Fortnite as it is now. That means we’re getting more content on a seasonal basis.

It’s sad for hardcore fans that could have potentially saved a little cash by buying the Battle Pass bundle on a yearly basis, but it looks like that’s not going to happen now.
