Ubisoft has unsheathed Assassin’s Creed Odyssey update 1.0.6, and it’s a fairly large patch with a lot of fixes, and some much-needed gameplay adjustments.
The big update in terms of new content is a level 34 questline called The Show Must Go On, which introduces new characters and missions. There’s plenty more self-contained quests coming to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in the next few months. Ubisoft plans to release multiple free DLC stories interspersed between chapters of its two big season pass story arcs. Seven free tales are on the way for now.
There’s a ton of fixes and changes in this patch. There are multiple fixes to bugged quests and gameplay mechanics, as well as making looting easier in naval encounters. Players can now auto-craft certain items, like arrows.
The menu system has been revamped in some areas too. The Mercenary system has been a particular target. Not only is it easier to understand the task at hand when it comes to taking on Mercs, the rewards for doing so have been altered for the better. The character menus have also been modified to make it easier to understand some stats.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey launched on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on October 5.

Features and Improvements
Regular Arrows Auto-Crafting
- You can now select the Arrow Auto-Crafting option for Normal arrows in your arrow quiver slot in the inventory.
- When activated, arrows will be crafted automatically when the player fires them all, if the player has sufficient resources available.
- This option can be toggled on/off at any time.
Detailed Character’s Statistics
- You can now access the Detailed Statistics page from the inventory menu (L3).
- The Detailed Statistics page shows advanced statistics (Main Attributes, Damage, Modifiers, Active legendary perks…) to help you optimize your character.
Improvement of the Mercenary Menu
- Unlocked ranks and associated Tier rewards are now properly showcased in the Mercenary menu.
Miscellaneous
- Changed successful Naval Boarding actions to immediately loot the reward resources rather than creating floating loot that must be picked up.
- The Quest and Region levels will now be consistent in the Pephka region.
- Added a horse sound when equipping horse skins.
- Added support for upcoming Epic Encounters.

- The economic advantages earned with the Mercenary Tiers rewards has been increased from 20% to 50%.
