Yu-Gi-Oh! Blazing Vortex is the third set in the OCG’s 11th series, following Phantom Rage and followed by Lightning Overdrive. The new set will release on February 4, 2021. The set will then be added to Standard Tournament Legal formats on February 5, 2021. These boosters will sell for $3.99. Booster boxes will include the same setup from the previous TCG and OCG sets.
Each 1st Edition OCG version of the booster box will include 1 Blazing Vortex +1 Bonus Pack. There will be 9 cards per pack and 30 packs per box. The set contains 125 cards in the Master Set. Booster boxes will follow the normal distribution.
What’s in the set?
The new face card of the set is Armed Dragon LV10, a revamped new version of the classic Armed Dragon mechanic that has 10,000 ATK. Other mechanics from classic sets from 2010 forward are being brought back as well. This will include new cards for themes introduced in 2010, 2012, 2016, 2017, and 2019. This will continue the World Premiere Cards from the previous set as well. There are 19 of these new cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! Blazing Vortex.
There will be things like a new Continuous Trap that will make it much easier to make control-style decks by breaking up chains of monster effects across turns. Konami also teased a new revamp for a classic Spell Card, although there’s no way to know what it actually is.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Blazing Vortex also includes the following rarities, here’s the breakdown:
- 50 Commons
- 26 Super Rares
- 14 Ultra Rares
- 10 Secret Rares
