A Plague Tale: Innocence Webseries Episode 3

So free games are something that any PC gamers like hearing about. And though it might just be a demo from time to time, getting to test out games before you put down hard earned cash on them is always a good thing. And if you’re in a very particular mood for some 14th century plague-ridden action, then there’s a game just for you, and Focus Home Interactive has some good news for you too. Although there’s some bad news too, as this game is positively swarming with rats. That good news is that A Plague Tale: Innocence will be getting a free demo on Steam this week.

After garnering generally positive reviews, the story-driven adventure looks to be pretty enjoyable, despite the legions of rats that swarm across its various environs. As players grapple with the threats the game presents, the various geopolitical and social issues of 1349 become ever-more threatening and dangerous. Players will take on the role of Amicia de Rune as she attempts to rescue here sickly brother from the grips of disease and nefarious forces. The duo of brother and sister are being hunted by all manner of human enemies, but it’s the biting and gnashing swarms that you really have to watch out for. As you journey across the degrading landscape of France, you’ll also encounter swarms of ravenous rats that you will have to use your mind to outwit. This is where the puzzle-solving elements of A Plague Tale: Innocence come in, and they’re actually surprisingly fun.

The game is also on sale this weekend at Steam. You can pick up A Plague Tale for 33% off the retail price, bringing it from $44.99 to $30.14 USD. Check out the Steam page to download the free demo.
