Stardew Valley has been a major time sink for many gamers on both PC and consoles. The farming sim has managed to suck so much time partially because of all the mini-games and small activities of managing your farms that combine to just destroy your free time. And one of those activities was heading down to the docks to fish for aquatic life and rare loot.
Fishing in the earlier versions of the game was sometimes a hassle. Having to trek down to the waterfront was just another of your usual chores that you had to schedule throughout the weeks you spent on the farm. And with the upcoming PC update, that’s about to change in a much needed way. In a basic overview, Stardew Valley will be getting a semi-automated method for players to raise fish with directly on their farms. The fish ponds will be a part of the new map which is planned as part of a new patch.
However there is some bad news about this and other future content. The console port of Stardew Valley will not be getting the new 1.4 patch anytime soon. Barone wrote that the porting company in charge of the project was experiencing “technical issues.”
Developer Concerned Ape previewed this new feature in a Tweet, which can be seen below. “Another sneak peek into the upcoming 1.4 update… introducing fish ponds, a new farm building that allows you to raise fish and collects eggs (roe) and other products,” writes the developer.
