Yakuza Studio’s Project JUDGE gets action-packed 30-minute gameplay reveal

Project JUDGE

Yakuza devs, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, are making a new game using the same engine and setting from the modern iterations, called Project JUDGE. This new game was announced during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s pre-Tokyo Game Show PlayStation Lineup Tour event, via some cryptic gameplay and statements from people involved with the project.

Sega also released a demo for the game onto PSN in Japan. The game is known as JUDGE EYES: Testament of the Reaper in Japan, just so you know. During the demo, you play as a detective who has to gather clues about various heinous crimes throughout the area. And this investigative endeavor looks to be a big part of the gameplay and the overall story.

There’s also a fighting system that is very similar to that of the Yakuza games, so fans of these will probably already be interested.

The game will release in Japan on December 13th exclusively for PS4. A western release will come, still for PS4 only, in 2019. Check out the gameplay segment down below.
