Xbox Games Pass adds Rare Replay and Resident Evil: Revelations

The newest batch of games added to Xbox Game Pass for June has just been revealed on Xbox Wire. This second wave of new games includes some interesting titles, and adds even more appeal to the recently launched Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. All four of these games will be part of Game Pass Ultimate, but only the second batch will support Xbox Game Pass for PC.

For the unaware, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the new bundle services that includes both Xbox Game Pass versions for Console and PC, as well as Xbox Live Gold. Gamers can get all of these services for $15 a month, effectively a $5 discount on buying them individually. The pot is further sweetened by the 20% discounts offered on Game Pass titles. So if gamers want to buy a game they play on Game Pass, they get a nice discount on the digital version. And with more than 200 titles on Xbox Game Pass for Console, there’s lots of genres to choose from.

This service was so popular during E3 2019 that the servers crashed under increased load.

Here are the dates and the four new Xbox Game Pass titles:

June 20

  • Resident Evil: Revelations (Xbox Game Pass for Console, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate)
  • Rare Replay (Xbox Game Pass for Console, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate)

June 27

  • Torment: Tides of Numenera (Xbox Game Pass for PC, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate)
  • Goat Simulator (Xbox Game Pass for PC, Xbox Game Pass for Console, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate)

The one downside to new games being added is that some games will inevitably be removed as the licenses for the titles expire. The drop on June 27th will see one game, Next Up Hero, being nixed. However on June 30th a bunch of games are going out: Dead Island Definitive Edition, Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition, Shadow Complex Remastered, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Zombie Army Trilogy.
