The anticipated launch of Xbox Game Pass on PC is here, and Microsoft is offering a great discount for budget-minded gamers looking to get access to a variety of PC games. That’s the big launch that even has a really cool deal going on.
Xbox Game Pass on PC is launching with more than 100 games in its library, and all for an introductory price, all for just $1 for the first month. This is a fairly common occurrence for Xbox gamers, for both Xbox Live and Xbox Game Pass. The whole deal is that Microsoft hopes you’ll stay on board after the intro deal expires, but that’s a personal choice.
There are over 100 different games in the service as of this launch, there’s plenty for fans of different genres going on here. A big draw here is access to both a huge array of exclusive titles, as well as new releases and big AAA games. Xbox exclusives aren’t all that’s offered through Game Pass. There are a lot of great third-party games including:
- Fez
- Football Manager 2019
- Hollow Knight
- Imperator: Rome
- Into the Breach
- Metro: Exodus
- Shenmue 1 & 2
- Slay the Spire
- State of Decay 2
- Surviving Mars
- The Banner Saga games
- Titan Quest Anniversary Edition
So with all of these cool games on offer, there are lots of reasons to try out the service for a month, although you only retain access to all of these games for as long as you have an active subscription, so keep that in mind. There’s also the bandwidth considerations for users with slower internet connections, although if that’s you, there’s likely little appeal to digital distribution as a primary game acquisition medium anyway.
But Microsoft isn’t stopping with Game Pass on PC either. The upcoming launch of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which will include both a Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold subscription in one for $15 a month is a very appealing option. Both Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold, Microsoft’s online gaming subscription, are priced at $9.99 per month. So saving $5 a month on the bundle is a pretty nice choice.
