World War Z shows off PvZ in new trailer

World War Z

World War Z may have been a terrible film, but at least Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive are giving a shot at making a decent game. And from what we can see in the latest trailer, that effort is coming along nicely. Speaking of a new trailer, this newest bit of gameplay footage is all about PvZ in World War Z.

As players jump their way through various zombie-filled hotzones from New York to Moscow and Jerusalem, they’ll encounter increasingly vicious hordes of flesheaters hellbent on making you their lunch. And if you want to make it out of this adventure alive, you’ll need to work together. Up to four players will use team tactics and various heavy weapons to take on massive swarms of the undead, and things can get really hairy. And with five different gameplay modes, there’s plenty of action to be had.

We also see more of the adaptive swarm mechanics in play with this trailer. The “adaptive spawn control” mentioned in the trailer is just another way of Saber saying they like the idea of the AI Director from Left 4 Dead enough to adapt it to their own game. The system in this game will likely control enemy spawns and horde attacks to keep the pacing of your adventure. We’ll just have to wait and see what the game manages to deliver. And since the game features some heavy gore and destructible body parts, whatever happens, it’s sure to be bloody.

Check out the latest trailer for the game down below, and if you want to see more of this zombie title in action, go take a look at another trailer showcasing the swarming hordes that are central to this biting gameplay experience. World War Z will release for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2019.
