World of Warcraft’s Battle for Azeroth preorders are live
The Blizzard store has been updated with a preorder page for the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Battle for Azeroth. The expansion has a release date of “on or before September 21, 2018. As usual, preorders come with multiple bonuses accessible to buyers now, including the level 110 character booster and some of the allied races. OF course, these new races bring the typical reputation and loot grinds. Although completing these grinds through leveling new characters will give players new armor sets that can be Transmog’d.
Some of the big announcement include a total redesign of server rules and the types of server environments available to players. The expansion will see a new type of content called Expeditions that play a lot like D&D adventures. PVP-specific servers will also go the way of the dinos in favor of a new more dispersed system.
Here’s an overview trailer:
“Players who pre-purchase Battle for Azeroth today can begin their journey to recruit four of the expansion’s new Allied Races, each representing comrades they’ve fought alongside on the Broken Isles and Argus in the game’s most recent expansion, Legion™. Upon winning the respect of an Allied Race by completing quests and earning reputation, players will unlock the ability to create characters of that race and set out on a new adventure across Azeroth.† Alliance players can add the shadow-touched Void elves and valiant Lightforged draenei to their ranks, while members of the Horde will be able to bring the ancient Nightborne and noble Highmountain tauren into their faction’s fold—with additional Allied Races to come in the future.”
Excessive traffic on Blizzard’s servers are causing load-balancing to kick off. Due to high demand, buyers could be placed in an automated queue. Just hang tight and the purchase page (don’t close it!) will automatically send you to checkout once it’s your turn. While you wait, you should check out a live Q&A with Game Director Ion Hazzikostas. Check out the announcement livestream below as well:
