World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Season 1 begins – Brings Mythic+ gear and more

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Season 1

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Season 1 is the first major content update for the new expansion, and includes a ton of new and improved features. The big new features in this season will include some new stuff to do, like a new raid for high-end players. The Castle Nathria raid is a new 10-man quest that’s meant to tax your wits as an adventurer. You will also learn more about the game’s new story through this raid.

The official description for the new ten-boss raid reads: “Long has Sire Denathrius ruled the denizens of Revendreth as they harvested anima from prideful souls.”

“But as drought and fear gripped the Shadowlands, Denathrius revealed his true loyalties. In defiance of his former Master, the noble Prince Renathal gathers his few remaining allies for a desperate mission to infiltrate Castle Nathria and remove Denathrius from power.”

That’s just the start though, so let’s dig in and see what else World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Season 1 has in store. As the future of the Shadowlands hangs in the balance, players are expected to take on the more challenging Mythic+ difficulty. There’s even a step beyond in terms of loot as well, with LFR being a new range of item level tiers for some raid drops while in Raid Finder mode.

To help everyone prepare, the developers have brought out a basic video guide for both the new PvE and PvP content. You can check that out below.

The new content for the Raids will open up over the next few weeks. There will be Normal and Heroic difficulties of all the new content will be accessible, with the first batch dropping on December 8 for the basic options, and the first wing including Huntsman Altimor, Hungering Destroyer and  Lady Inerva Darkvein on December 15. The next few raids are also split into four Wings. Wing 2 will open after January 5, while Wing 3 and 4 will follow on January 19 and February 2.

There are 10 Raid bosses in all spread across the four wings. Players looking to use the LFR to find the raid groups will want at least gear level 170 to qualify.

Competitive PvP is also now available for the expansion. Players can duke it out to earn Conquest and Honor that can then be turned in for various items and rewards. It’s just the beginning too. You can claim various bits of epic-quality gear from a PvP vendor within The Enclave in Oribos.
