Wolfenstein: Youngblood announces RTX ray tracing and other fancy graphics

Wolfenstein Youngblood Announced

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is coming soon, and it’s bringing with not only a new story, but an amazing batch of graphical improvements that make the shooter franchise look much prettier and gritty. Nvidia is apparently partnering with the trio of MachineGames, Arkane and Bethesda to implement the next generation of graphical tech into the continuation of the Blazkowicz saga.

The idea here is that Nvidia is helping the development team behind the new Wolfenstein to put in many new polishes for the sake of graphical fidelity. The FPS title will likely feature real-time ray tracing effects and other improvements through the Vulkan API, although no details about specifics or system requirements were provided.

Matt Wuebbling, head of marketing at the GPU maker, had the following to say of the partnership:

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is an innovative take on the original franchise, which has a rich history of using forward-looking technologies to set its games apart. Bethesda’s use of ray tracing will dramatically enhance the image quality, while NVIDIA Adaptive Shading will boost performance.

To help promote the game and this new graphical tech, Nvidia is partnering with select retailers and is offering a free copy of Wolfenstein: Youngblood to anyone who picks up a pre-built including a  GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, 2080, 2070 or 2060 GPU, or even if they purchase the standalone hardware. The game will release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on July 26, 2019. Check out the newest gameplay trailer showing off some of these planned visual improvements down below.
