Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem Events patches server issues

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is out, bringing a new and unique ARPG feel to the genre dominated by the likes of Diablo and Path of Exile. With a unique approach to class design and leveling, WOLCEN Studio has managed to craft quite an interesting twist, fusing horror elements, gunplay and mountains of loot in a wonderful new way.

The APRG recently dropped to a full launch after a four-year run in Steam’s Early Access system, and it’s been somewhat well-received by genre fans and new players. Ongoing issues with launch server stability have been reported though, souring the good mood. The developers have been working hard to keep things smooth though, including introducing a new patch today that addresses these issues and many other bugs.

“The next hotfix will already bring some enhancements that will allow us to increase the limit of concurrent players, and we will continue to increase it if we notice improvements,”

Server issues prevented a ton of people from playing online, and other compounding problems led to many not being able to save their character progress at all. The new patch helps with these load-balancing problems, with the goal of increasing the capacity of servers to allow more people to play online.

Balance changes also end up in the new patch, with a focus on making the game a bit more consistent in terms of difficulty. Various Aspects of Apocalypse have been tweaked, with damage and ability cost getting a rework in many different skills. Some items also got tweaked, with one of note being the “health on this item” on Purifier’s Statement unique spaulder, which has been replaced with a maximum health augment.

The bug fixes here are numerous and varied, affecting pretty much every area of the game.  Quest bugs, sync issues with the network, skill problems, and a whole host of other bugs have been fixed. Various audio and UI issues, including some localization errors, have been fixed too.

Gameplay-affecting fixes include some tweaks to bosses that would get stuck, as well as some issues with skills not activating and other problems. There was an item duplication exploit that has also been fixed related to stacking items. Endgame special bosses also had some problems with loot and level-scaling, those issues should be fixed now.
