Will Madden 23 be available for the Nintendo Switch?

Madden 23

Madden and other sports franchises have been an annual fixture in video games for years now. The draw of taking sports on the go has been something fans have wanted for years. It looked like the Switch was finally going to enable AAA sports games to get on the portable side of the gaming scene, but it hasn’t really happened yet.

And while NBA 2K managed a Switch port, the same can’t be said for the football giant. There has never been a Switch version of a Madden game, but maybe things will change at some point. Here’s what we know so far.

Will Madden 23 be available for the Nintendo Switch?

Madden 23 will be released this coming August for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC. Madden 23, as of June 2022, will not be receiving a Nintendo Switch version.

And since that’s already been made clear, there’s unlikely to be much shift from that position. Madden games are pretty difficult to render when you get on the actual field. This means that the Switch console might not have the juice to run the game at all. And that’s unlikely to change for some time. If there was a Madden 23 Switch version, it would likely have to be pretty stripped down to run at all. Think the simplifying of features on PS2 versions of older games, and you’ve got an idea of what to expect.

So while we are unlikely to see this kind of port of Madden 23, there’s still some hope on the horizon.
