Mobile gaming is growing and becoming a much more common form of entertainment, especially in the eastern markets, but that hasn’t stopped PC and console gamers from enjoying the hobby. Console games continue to be a multi-billion dollar industry each year. And with every new release, there’s a dash of hype from fans waiting to see if they get to play the new game on their platform of choice.
And with big franchises like Diablo, there’s a ton of hype surrounding them. Diablo Immortal is a mobile free-to-play game and will take place between the events in Diablo II and Diablo III. So with the iconic setting getting a new story, lots of fans want to jump in on the fun.
But what if you’re not on mobile? Back during the disastrous reveal of the game, Blizzard said the game was a mobile-exclusive title. That has now changed, as the newly launched version also includes a PC port. But that leaves out a lot of gamers. Will console players be able to play Diablo Immortal? For this guide, we’re going to focus on Diablo Immortal PS5 and PS4 versions, and what we know about future plans.
Will Diablo Immortal be on PS4 & PS5?
A Diablo Immortal PS5 version has not been announced, and is currently not available. And obviously the same is true for the PS4. Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be any plans to change that for now. It’s unlikely that they can get Sony to play ball right now, especially given how much effort it would take to make a port of the new RPG. If you want a console-like experience, the mobile and PC versions both support 60 FPS and controllers, so it’s not all bad.
The consoles could likely run the game just fine, with it being a game developed for much less intensive mobile platforms. Blizzard could issue an update on this front in the future, but nothing concrete has come out yet. For now, you just have to rely on the PC and mobile versions to get your demon-killing fix.
