In Genshin Impact, players can ascend Keqing, Mona, or Sucrose using Whopperflower Nectar. It’s also used in a few recipes for weapon upgrades. It’s one of many different items, along with the likes of Glaze Lily and Slime Condensate, that you need to gather at some point in the game. Here’s how to do just that, as quickly as possible.
Where to find Whopperflower nectar in Genshin Impact
You will want to pop open your handy Adventurer Handbook, heading over to the Bosses tab. There will be a bunch of bosses listed. You should see an option for both Cryo and Pyro Whopperflowers listed. Clicking Navigate will then mark the boss on your map. allowing you to hunt it down. Hop over to the nearest fast travel node and get ready for a fight. Bring solid elemental counters to each boss, so Pyro moves for a Cryo, and vice-versa, that way you can take it down with ease.
To help you out wiht planning where to go, here are some of the possible spawn locations for Cryo Whopper flower and Pyro Whopperflower
Cryo Whopperflower Spawns
- Nearby to the teleporter between Wolvendom and Stormterror’s Lair
- West of the fast travel point in Stormterror’s Lair
- North of the fast travel point in Starfell Valley
Pyro Whopperflower Spawns
- Right of the Luhua Pool
- On the right-hand side of Tianqiu Valley
At level 40, these Cryo and Pyro Whopperflowers will drop straight into the uncommon upgrade material, Shimmering Nectar. That’s normally something you have to convert the nectar into. With level 60+ encounters with the bosses, they also drop Energy Nectar, another rare upgrade material.
How to use Whopperflower nectar in Genshin Impact
You will want to take this drop and use Alchemy to turn in into Shimmering Nectar. That’s what you’re going to use to upgrade various characters and weapons. You need it to upgrade Sucrose, Mona and Keqing.
In many cases, you need to upgrade it to the Shimmer Nectar or Energy Nectar to use it in crafting and Ascensions, do that through Alchemy.
Turn the drop into Shimmering Nectar, then use it for the following Weapon Ascensions:
- Favonius Warbow
- Ferrous Shadow
- Halberd
- Iron Sting
- Solar Pearl
- The Bell
