Where to find Spider Silk in Grounded

Where to find spider silk in Grounded

The spider silk in Grounded is some of the hardest to get material, and it’s also one of the most useful. It’s used for a variety of crafting materials, including higher-tier armor and weapons aplenty. You will need to get it, and sadly the best way is to harvest it from the spiders you kill, along with their various parts. You will have to hunt down these silent killers, and this won’t be easy, but it is doable. For starters, bring the Sprig Bow and arrows to hit them from a distance. You won’t be able to take much damage before you go down when taking on Spiders though, be very careful. Keep shooting and repositioning to stay out of their range.

You will definitely want to bring out the Insect Axe and some highly upgraded armor for these fights though. The spiders are some of the most dangerous foes in the game, and they are very aggressive. They will attack you pretty much on sight, especially at night. However, if you turned on the helpfully included Arachnophobic Mode in the game options, yes that’s a thing, you won’t have to deal with this.

Sure it’s arguably more fun to fight your way to progress in Grounded, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. If you choose to avoid the confrontational route, there is another way to get spider silk in Grounded. You won’t get the Spider Parts to unlock new weapons and armor, but you can get spider silk in Grounded from another source.

There will be small deposits all around the area where they spawn. You will know you’re getting close when you see more and more webs around on the vegetation in certain areas. You will see more and more as you draw closer, so be on the lookout for attacks if you start seeing a lot of the stuff around.

You have to be very careful when approaching because as in nature, Spider Silk is very sticky. If you start seeing it in large clumps on vegetation, approach it very cautiously. Hover over the spider web and make sure you see “Spider Web” over the area. As long as you see that, it’s OK to take out your axe and start harvesting. If you’re not careful, you will get caught in the webs.

You won’t need the upgraded axe to harvest Spider Silk at least, so that’s one positive. Take and Silk and Parts you have and scan some to unlock the new recipes you have. One of the recipes is the dew collector, great for getting a clean water source.
