Where to find Sea Captain Toad in Paper Mario: The Origami King

The Sea Captain Toad in Paper Mario: The Origami King is among the many hidden and locked off NPCs in the game. Players have to jump through a fair few number of hoops to reach the various elements of the story. And with the Sea Captain Toad, you need to do a bit of work.

The Toads, much like their cousins in other games, in Paper Mario: The Origami King are still in trouble. And of course, Mario has to save them again. Helping them out gives you access to some nice bonuses, so you want to do it. These Toads serve as merchants and other helpful folks throughout the game. When you first arrive in Autumn Mountain, the Sea Captain Toad is in some trouble.

After defeating the Colored Pencils boss, you’re ready to get going. This process of going about the map, including going back down to Overlook Mountain and removing the red streamer from Peach’s Castle. Removing this red streamer from the captured Toad and speaking to him will progress the process and send you on your way. Speak to him and you’ll be able to ride the nearby tram.

After this point Mario and Olivia will meet a Bob-omb that needs some help with his memory. After the ride, you will arrive in Autumn Mountain. You can find the Sea Captain Toad immediately in front of the tram. this Toad is the blue flopping fish just to the right of the tram’s ramp. Go over and hit it with your hammer to transform him back into his original form.

Completing this process will allow you to return to the open water via the ship that the Toad runs.
