Being an open-world full loot PVP game, there’s lots of competition for resources. Having success in this game is all about being able to explore. Tons of hidden fights and other content can be a pathway to major resources and gear. And with the crafting system incentivizing traveling around, it becomes important to know the world around you. As such, Fast Travel in New World is pretty important. You will want to jump around the world and hunt down these various items. You might also want to find ore nodes like Gold and Iron. With high-level stuff such as this, it’s much harder to find.
For some other recipes, like cooking items, you need Salt. Salt is found in Provisions Crates in Everfall and Brightwood mostly, although some sources are claiming other drops are possible. Provision Crates are the primary source, so you can’t go out and mine for it.
One option for new folks is to hit up the few T3 Crates found just outside of Windsward’s Town. These crates are all over the map, you can find a full collection of maps that lay out the different locations of Provision Crates in many different regions, just click the image to see a map laying the spawns out. They will also spawn in many regions all over the map, so get hunting.
If you want a fast way to find any resource, use the New World map that the community has put together. If you want to know without having to fiddle with it, keep reading.
Ebonscale Reach has the most T3 crates, with Reckless Shore and Mourningdale also having quite a few spawns. The lesser T2 and T1 variants can be found in the other regions. You can find some maps below that lays out each spawn location to check across many regions.
That concludes our guide on how and where to find Salt in New World.
