Completing your PokeDex is one of the main goals for Pokémon games. This new Pokémon game has a ton of stuff that’s brand new or reworked. That means Trainers getting back into the franchise have a lot to learn. The entire process of getting into the game will take you some time, but it’s well worth it. There is a ton to do, and you’ve got plenty of time to explore. With a much more unique approach to gameplay and item management in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the game has some very confusing twists in store for long-time franchise fans. This particular guide can help get one of the more beloved elements of the dex.
Where to find Chimchar in Pokémon Legends Arceus
Trainers looking to find Chimchar will have a bit of a time doing so. The best places to look for this little monkey friend appear to be Deertrack Path and Ramanas Island in the Obsidian Fieldlands. Be warned though, it seems to be a fairly rare spawn. Chimchar seems to spawn far more often at night, so try heading to the right places to find them when you’re out hunting. Given that this monster comes from a previous generation, it can be a bit harder to find.
If you can’t get one to spawn, head back to Jubilife Village. By jumping back to the main village and then traveling back to a camp out in the wild, it appears to reset the spawns in that zone. You could potentially get lucky with RNG by doing this. It’s worth a shot. And given that you need to complete Research Tasks for capturing more than one, you might have to do this process a few times. You may also find Lv. 15 – 17 Monferno within the Ramanas Island, although it’s even harder to get to spawn.
It would seem though, that these are the most common places to find Chimchar. So keep hopping back and forth until you find one. There’s one notable exception though, as the Space Time Distortions do sometimes include monsters from previous generations. You can get both rare spawns and items inside these endgame zones. You just need to know where to look.
Other older dex editions come with the game, like Lucario.
