Where to find a Dragon Scale in Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Isle of Armor DLC

Filling up your Pokédex in Pokémon Sword and Shield is a point of pride. It’s going to take some work though. And just like previous entries in the franchise, there are some Pokémon that can only be unlocked through breeding, trading, or evolutions. In particular, there are baby Pokémon like Azurill and Happiny, as well as evolved forms that are locked behind walls like this. For Kingdra, you need to evolve Seadra into Kingdra using a Dragon Scale in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

And if you’re looking to complete the Isle of Armor Pokedex, you will need to get all of these special spawns and evolutions as well.

With a Dragon Scale in Pokémon Sword and Shield, you’re going to have a very specific use for it. You will need it to evolve Seadra into Kingdra. This is one of the evolutions that’s locked to one method, and can’t be caught in the wild. Lucky for you, we have a guide on where to find this item. The Dragon Scale spawns on an island out in the Honeycalm Sea. Check the map below for the exact location.

Use your Rotom Bike to head out there from the Tower of Waters, avoiding spawns along the way to speed up the process. You will see a small patch of sand with a Pokéball sitting on it. This ball contains the Dragon Scale. Pick it up and you’re ready to make Kingdra.

Once you have used the Dragon Scale, it will disappear from your inventory. From there, it’s time to trade. Trade the Seadra to someone you trust and then trade it back. Doing this will make it evolve into Kingdra. Also, you can have another Trainer trade you a Seadra that has the Dragon Scale to get Kingdra in your dex as well.
